Katie Holmes Archive 1 Katie Holmes starts filming for "Don't Be Afraid Of the Dark", July 17th Finally! Today (July 17) Katie Holmes started shooting scenes for the film "Dont Be Afraid Of The Dark".
She looked youthful and was smiling and talking as she walked with her body guard and co-star
Bailee Madison. The hair style which I am sure is for the movie, is a
pleasant change. It gives her a younger and earthy look.
Katie was reportedly with the rest of the cast (Guy Pearce, Bailee Madison) filming scenes for “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” at the State Hockey and Netball Center.

Katie Alongside Body Guard on Melbourne Set, July 10th

Katie is seen here walking along side bodyguard on Melborn set (July 08th). We heard earlier in June that great lengths were being taken to lock down the film set in Melbourne in order to prevent people and paps coming on the set
to get photos or autographs or just to see her on set. Katie needed
some privacy from the media. Miramax had confirmed that security would
be at a premium and booked all of the sound stages at the studio
complex.
There was a breach in that security when NOVA 93.7 presenters Ryan, Monty and Wippa made it onto the set with no problems at all. They were disguised in a gold cart with Wippa acting as their security guard.
They were able to drive around the set for about 10 minutes, going past the costumes and set. They saw some paparazzi at the gate and soon a security guard came up to them and said they had 4 minutes to get out of there.
So, now we can see why Katie needs this extra security. She is always swarmed by the media.
